Founders

BHIKKHU SADDHATISSA

Bhikkhu Saddhatissa was born in a Shrestha Family as the Elder son of Mr. Siddhi Bahadur Shrestha & Mrs. Purna Kumari Shrestha in 1968 Feb. at Balambu Village in Kathmandu District. He became a novice monk at the age of 14, in 1981, November 28th at Sangharam Bhikkhu Training Center Dhalko, Ward No. 17 Kathmandu under the guidance of the two Most Venerable teachers Bhikkhu Ashwoghosha (Late Sangha Nayak) & Bhikkhu Maitri Maha Thero. After two years of study at the Training Centre in Nepal, he went to Sri-Lanka for further study in 1984. He was under the guidance of the The Most Venerable teachers Late Dr. Henapitagedara Gnanawasa Nayaka Maha Thero (Adhikaran Nayak) & Most Venerable Dr. Yatagama Dhammapala Anunayaka Maha Thero in Sri-Lanka. He studied in one the great Buddhist educational Center famed as Saraswati Maha Piriwena Balagalla for seven years. After completing Piriwena (College), he joined Buddhist & Pali University where he completed B.A. degree in Buddhist Philosophy. He received high ordination (Upasampada) in Sri-Lanka. After coming back to Nepal, he and Bhikkhu Kolita initiated Buddha Bhumi Maha Vihara & Budha Bhumi Buddhist Center Nepal in the year 2001.

He is the Founder of Buddha Bhumi Maha Vihar, Buddha Bhumi Buddhist Center Nepal, Buddha Bhumi Free Health Centre, Sarana Publication and Samyak Youth Group and so on. He is at the present a member of Akhil Nepal Bhikkhu Maha Sangha, Future for Nepal, Chief Manager of Sangharam Buddhist Magazine, Teacher and Resident Monk of Sangharam Bhikhu Training Center. Frequently, he envolves himself in Dharmadoota Mission in the country and abroad.

He was awarded "Shaasanakirti Shree Saadhujana Pasaadini" (2003 April 06) from Saraswati Maha Pirivena (College), Rammanya Maha Nikaya in Sri Lanka.

BHIKKHU KOLITA

Bhikkhu Kolita was born in a Shakya Family as the middle Son of Mr. Kulbahadur Shakya & Mrs. Dilkumari Shakya in 1970, Sep. at Patan (Lalitapur) in the Kathmandu Valley. He entered the order of novice monk at the age of 12 years in 1981, November 28th in Sangharam Bhikkhu Training Center, Dhalko, Ward No. 17, Kathmandu under the two Most Venerable teachers Bhikkhu Aswagosha (Late Sangha Nayak Maha Thero) & Bhikkhu Maitri Maha Thero. He is the Founder of Buddha Bhumi Maha Vihar, Buddha Bhumi Buddhist Center Nepal, Buddha Bhumi Free Health Centre, Sarana Publication and Samyak Youth Group and so on. He is at the present a member of Future for Nepal, Chief Editor of Sangharam Buddhist Magazine, Teacher and Resident Monk of Sangharam Bhikkhu Training Center and Visiting Lecturer of Kathmandu Campus. Frequently, he envolves himself in Dharmadoota Mission in the country and abroad.

He was awarded "Shaasanakirti Shree Sanghagana Pasaadini (2003 April 06) from Saraswati Maha Pirivena (College), Ramannya Maha Nikaya in Sri Lanka.

Buddha Bhumi Buddhist Center (BBBC)


Buddha, the awakened one taught the beauty of generosity and the bliss of renunciation; the need for unity, simplicity and equality; the message of peace, compassion, wisdom and devotion and the need of the humanitarian services. Considering his great teachings, Buddhism is more in need and relevant today in this turbulant world than ever before in the history of mankind.
